It was here that Grandma poured her heart into every dish, igniting a passion for cooking in her grandson. Inspired by her dedication, he pursued his culinary dreams, studying in renowned schools to perfect his craft.
            In 2017, life led him to Malaysia, where he found love and a new beginning. Determined to honor his grandmother’s legacy, he built a restaurant that embodies the warmth, joy, and authentic flavors of Thailand—bringing a taste of home to every dish.

Thai cuisine, known for its bold flavors and vibrant energy, perfectly reflects this spirit of warmth and vitality. Additionally, the name SUN THAI carries a special connection to Malaysia, as its pronunciation closely resembles the Malay word “SANTAI,” which means relaxed and cozy—just the feeling we want every guest to have when dining with us.

WHY ORANGE?

Orange represents sunshine and joy, and the whole restaurant is infused with colorful, warm and heart-warming atmosphere that makes people feel like they are in Thailand and can also dine in a happy atmosphere.

    We’d like to share that Sun Thai Food is currently in the process of obtaining the JAKIM Halal certification.

    Our restaurant is proudly owned by a Chinese Muslim, and we are committed to maintaining the highest standards. We serve no pork, no lard, and no alcohol, and all our ingredients are sourced from halal-certified suppliers. Many of our dishes are also suitable for vegetarians.
